Onward, Forward

I was recently cast in a new play directed by a fellow St. Olaf Alumni. This is my first acting gig in two years, and also my first one since my New York debut as Dave in "This is Murphy's Law", the smash hit of the 2004 New York City Fringe Festival. The only review we received ripped us for not being simple enough in our set choices, as well as saying something about how we have a lot to learn as far as this theater thing goes. He also commented on how we didn't have any programs.

So it was a learning experience.

But the other day I was asked to send in a short bio and headshot to the director of this new play in which I was cast. This posed a problem since I don't have a recent headshot that would be suitable. So I took my camera into my room and set up some mood lighting. I was going to take my own headshot.

And this is what I came up with! I don't know which patron saint of the non-photogenic I prayed to but they really delivered for me here. Good job me!

Here the bio I wrote for the program:

This is Ted's first acting gig in NYC since "This is Murphy's Law",
the smash hit of the 2004 NYC Fringe Festival in which his perfomance
was lauded as "big" and "blowsy". He is excited to give this theater
thing another shot and hopes you enjoy the show.

Go vote!

Certainly was, by far, the best show in the Fringe that year, and probably years to come.
