MGMT & Beck. The aftermath.

Let me start with this. MGMT is awesome. Beck is awesome. An MGMT and Beck concert was all shades of awesome. Sure I had to commute from Union Square to 175th, but it was worth it.

I met up with Tim outside of his NYU dorm. I was Tim's camp counselor many years ago. I remember the days of being such a good role model by flipping his bed over on top of him when he refused to get out of bed in the morning. Now he's 18 and just started at NYU. He lives in the Union Square dorm which is literally a 10 minute walk from my apartment. I don't know how this ended up happening, but I assume the universe had something to do with it.

He called me on Wednesday evening asking if I wanted to come to the concert since his date had backed out so I told him I would come.

As we were walking through the subway station we saw a woman pushing a toddler in a stroller. And this toddler had an entire baguette in his hands and was just destroying that thing. It looked kind of like this:

And then, just when we thought the night couldn't get any better. We see THIS.

The following dialogue took place:

Tim: Why are all these people gathered around?

Ted: I don't know. Oh, there some child dancing like Michael Jackson.

Tim: Ted. That's no child.

Ted: ...

Tim & Ted: This is the greatest night of our lives.

And then we went and saw MGMT and Beck and they tore the house apart with their awesome beats and fresh rhymes.

I know it's weird that way. Isn't public transit grand?
