I didn't think anything of it, and since I was 11 I thought Rush was awesome. As she gave me the shirt she also said "And if anyone gives us any attitude about your shirt we'll just tell them to go fuck themselves."
Yes, instead of cookies and sunshine, my Grandmother dispensed myths about the liberal media and partisan t-shirts.
Today, little has changed. She continually sends me these forwarded emails that warn me about Barack Obama's ties to Al Queda, Barack Obama's loyalty to Islam, Barack Obama's rise to power compared to the rise of the antichrist in Revelations, etc. Honestly I don't mean to use this blog as a forum for my political beliefs, but you have to admit that it is pretty funny.

Now usually I just show these emails to friends and we share a good chuckle. Most of my friends are amazed that she even uses email. She's a resourceful old lady my Grandma. However, I have a feeling that I won't be seeing anymore emails from her. My aunt Paula replied with this:

Enough. Please do not send me anymore of this racist, guilt by association, innuendo filled and fact short stuff. Unnamed sources are rarely reliable and this email is so tainted with bigotry and smear as to be laughable. As an incentive to get you to stop, starting with this one, I am sending $25 in your name to the Obama Campaign for Change. Keep it up and you too will become a Obama Grassroots Supporter. That is awesome. I love how in all these emails (I get some too), they always cite Wikipedia as a main source.
